Service Description
This course covers 1 semester (20 weeks). There are face-to-face video conferences on certain days and times. The participants get familiar with the Finnish educational system and its’ innovative tendencies regarding multidisciplinary and phenomenon-based learning and collaborative teaching. In addition to the main innovative trends in Finland, we will learn from further European and global examples for advanced STEAM practices. The training program introduce pedagogical approaches, didactical methods, tools and technologies and ready-to-use resources for the participants. TARGET AUDIENCE Middle school, high school, university students, elementary, lower and higher secondary teachers, university teachers, early childhood educators, educational leaders, pre-service teachers. COURSE DESCRIPTION STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) integration in education is becoming increasingly important worldwide. In today's Finnish schools, multidisciplinary and phenomenon-based learning are the critical approaches, which implement STEAM in the form of project-based learning in everyday practices. Based on the overview of the Finnish and global "STEAM-scape," our training program reflects on the major trends, opportunities, and current challenges of inter-, multi-, and transdisciplinary mathematics learning combined with various tools and technologies. Experience Workshop Global STEAM Network-Finland's (www.experienceworkshop.org) own research, development, and co-creation projects provide a firm basis for the training content.
